Print Quarterly Internship
Print Quarterly, the leading scholarly journal on prints and printmaking, is offering a voluntary, one- or two-day-per-week internship to a student in art history. Working closely with the Editor and Administrator in the journal’s offices — located between Sloane Square and Victoria Station — and research libraries in London, the intern will be involved in the day-to-day operation of the journal and will gain insight into the workings of the magazine.
Duties will be wide-ranging, but likely to include procuring and managing images and review copies of publications, proof reading, assisting with the redesign of the website, copy editing and professional correspondence, as well as routine and miscellaneous office tasks such as compiling offprints and filing.
Candidates should have an excellent command of the English language, possess good writing and organizational skills, as well as a strong interest in publishing or arts journalism. In addition, the following are desirable:
- Good computer and internet research skills
- Experience in QuarkXpress and web publishing
- Enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Italian, French, German or other European languages
- Experience in art historical research in London libraries
- Experience in editing and proof reading
Duration
The dates are flexible although the minimum duration of the internship is twenty working days, 10am to 4pm.
